These terms govern purchases from AfriLens Intelligence on afrilensintel.com: single reports, subscriptions and Rapid Scan desk studies.

1. Products and research method

We sell digital research reports (PDF, with Excel annexes for some tiers), annual subscriptions and Rapid Scan desk studies. All research is compiled by the AfriLens research desk, cross-verified and cited as described on our Methodology page, with editorial review before release. It is not reviewed by independent subject-matter experts.

2. Pricing and currency

Prices are in South African rand (ZAR). You pay the amount shown at checkout. Your bank may apply conversion fees.

3. Ordering and payment

An order is accepted when our payment provider [payment provider – Payfast or Gumroad, confirm; see CHECKOUT.md] confirms payment and we email you a confirmation. Pre-orders are charged [at order / on release – confirm] and delivered on publication; if a pre-ordered title is not published by the stated date [plus 30 days – confirm], you may cancel for a full refund. We may decline or cancel an order for suspected fraud or a pricing error and will refund any payment taken.

4. Digital delivery

Access to your download begins immediately on purchase. We email a signed, time-limited download link (valid [72 hours / 5 downloads – confirm]) on payment confirmation, normally within minutes. If it doesn't arrive within 24 hours, you can re-download it from the link in your receipt [confirm self-serve re-download]. Files may be watermarked with your name or order reference.

6. Rapid Scan desk studies

• A Rapid Scan is a 15–20 page desk study with a verification appendix, ordered and paid for online and delivered by email within 5 working days of payment. [Price, late-delivery remedy and refund policy to be confirmed before ordering opens.]
• Scope is limited to desk research from public or customer-supplied sources. We do not provide interviews, surveys, site visits, valuations, expert reports or signed professional opinions.

7. Licence

Every purchase is licensed, not sold, under our Licence terms.

8. Refunds and cooling-off

See our Refund policy. Downloads and access begin immediately on purchase. Because supply of digital content begins immediately, with your consent at checkout, the cooling-off right in section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA) does not apply, in line with the exemptions in section 42 for goods or services made to the consumer's specification and for digital content where supply has begun. [LEGAL REVIEW: confirm the s42 exemption wording and add a consent checkbox at checkout.]

9. Disclaimer and liability

10.2 To the extent permitted by law, AfriLens's total liability for any claim relating to a product or service is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on our research. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for gross negligence or fraud, or your rights under the Consumer Protection Act.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa [confirm venue, e.g. Gauteng Division, Johannesburg].
